High School

Keeping in mind the words of St. John Paul II who said, “It is Jesus you seek when you dream of happiness,” it is the goal of our ENCOUNTER program to present Christ as the answer to the longing in our hearts. We want to form a genuine community, with Christ at its’ center, where we can grow and live as His disciples. Ultimately, our desire is to foster an encounter with the person of Jesus Christ, to nurture a relationship with Him, and to be set on fire to live for Him in the following ways:

Belong | During the first half of Encounter nights (Wednesday 7-8 pm), we gather for games and fellowship. This time is dedicated to deepening relationships with peers and allows for a fun break from school work.

Believe | The second half of Encounter nights (Wednesday 7-8 pm) is devoted to encountering Jesus in prayer and allowing Him to speak to our hearts. This will typically be during times of Eucharistic adoration, praise, and worship, or communal prayer with peers. Additionally, the summer Steubenville Youth Conference and annual fall retreats are great opportunities for teens to encounter the Lord.

Become | Discipleship team is a branch of high school youth ministry dedicated to a deeper formation in understanding and living out the Catholic faith. Members of the Discipleship team are trained to be peer ministers to serve within Encounter, Confirmation classes and middle school Impact.

Beyond | Third Saturdays of the month (9-11 am) offer service opportunities to empower our young people to live out the call to evangelization and give them opportunities to be witnesses of His love to their communities.
