“It is Jesus you seek when you dream of happiness.”
-Pope St. John Paul II
Our ENCOUNTER program aims to present Christ as the answer to the longing in our hearts. We want to form a genuine community, with Christ at its center, where we can grow and live as His disciples. Ultimately, we desire to foster an encounter with the person of Jesus Christ, nurture a relationship with Him, and be set on fire to live for Him in the following ways:
Belong | Time for games, icebreakers, and fellowship are essential to deepen relationships with peers and allow for a fun break from schoolwork.
Believe | Teens will be given many opportunities to encounter Jesus in prayer and allow him to speak to their hearts. These encounters will typically be during times of Eucharistic adoration, praise, and worship, or communal prayer with peers. For those interested, we will also connect with Franciscan University’s summer youth conferences, Damascus’ Catholic Youth Summer Camp, and other local retreats.
Become | Discipleship team is a high school youth ministry branch dedicated to a deeper formation in understanding and living out the Catholic faith. Members of the Discipleship team are trained to be peer ministers to serve within Encounter, Confirmation classes, and middle school Impact.
Beyond | Service opportunities empower our young people to live out the call to evangelization and give them opportunities to witness God’s love for their communities.
