This year’s Impact theme is “Who do you say that I am?” When Jesus asked His apostles this question, Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
(Matthew 16:15-16)
At Impact, middle school youth explore this question for themselves and are invited to encounter the person of Jesus Christ, the Messiah, through fellowship, family activities, study, and prayer. Impact does this by following the FOUR pathway:
Belong | Each Impact meeting is opened with an ice-breaker or game to encourage fellowship and a sense of belonging among participants.
Believe | Once a month Impact youth and their parents participate in a night of prayer together. Each prayer experience is unique and explores different ways to encounter Jesus through Lectio Divina, testimony, music, Adoration, and prayer.
Become | The Impact session this year is a family adventure with “The Chosen” series. Impact youth receive a swag bag at the beginning of the session that contains a study guide and journal to help them and their family dig deeper into the life of Jesus Christ and His ministry. Families will watch the series together throughout the session and at Impact meetings, we will unpack the content.
Beyond | Middle school youth will take their love of Christ out into the world by completing a service project with their family. This can be creating a Box for Baltimore during Advent, making casseroles for Our Daily Bread, making lunches for our SALT ministry, or a project the family chooses.
