Fifteen years ago, our parish created a sacred place unlike any other — a place of remembrance, prayer, and healing.

The Garden of Hope was dedicated in memory of our children who are held in the loving arms of God until we are reunited with them in the Kingdom of Heaven. From its beginning, this outdoor sanctuary was intended to provide comfort not only to grieving families but to all who seek peace, reflection, and hope.

Over the years, the Garden has become an important part of our parish and school community. It has served as the backdrop for Easter photographs, First Communion celebrations, and Confirmation milestones. Students gather there to pray. Parishioners pause there for quiet reflection. Countless visitors have found solace beneath the canopy of crape myrtle trees and in the presence of the statue that stands at its center.

The Garden has been deeply loved — and it shows.

After years of faithful use and exposure to the elements, the Garden now requires significant renovation.

Tree roots have shifted and uplifted the walkways, creating safety concerns. The pedestal surrounding the statue needs repair, and the original pavers have become worn and faded. Aging landscaping has become difficult to maintain, and some plantings must be replaced.

Our vision is not simply to restore what was once there, but to renew the Garden so it can continue serving future generations.

The redesigned Garden of Hope will preserve the beauty and purpose of this cherished space while creating a safer, more welcoming environment for prayer and reflection. New walkways, refreshed landscaping, enhanced lighting, and an elevated pedestal will draw visitors’ attention to the statue of Jesus with the children — the heart of the Garden — and create an atmosphere of peace and permanence.

Most importantly, the renewed Garden will continue to offer what so many have found there over the past fifteen years: comfort in times of sorrow, quiet in moments of uncertainty, and hope when it is needed most.
