A Special Message regarding Fr. Mike’s Grandmother
As a parish family, we would like to share the news of the passing of Fr. Mike’s grandmother. Mary Roland of Catonsville, Maryland, was a faith-filled Catholic who lived out her love for the Eucharist through Daily Mass attendance. She was also an active community member, card player, and an avid Duckpin bowler, even through her late 80s.
Her love of Jesus and her faith had a direct relationship with the formation and, ultimately, the vocation of our pastor, Fr. Mike. As a young child, it was Fr. Mike’s grandmother who encouraged him to become a priest, even going as far as placing a door handle on his bedroom door stating, “Do not disturb; I am studying to become a priest” when he was just in the 3rd grade. To learn more about Mary, visit her obituary HERE.
In admiration for the influence Mary had on our Pastor’s vocation and gratitude for her life, we would like to share that A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Monday, January 13, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 4795 Ilchester Rd, Ellicott City, MD 21043. Our parish community is invited to attend the funeral.
We ask you to keep Fr. Mike and his family in your prayers.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
~ Amen
