Join Us for Inspiring Events and Spiritual Opportunities at OLPH!

Pentecost Novena
Fri., May 10 through Fri., May 17
7 pm each evening in the Church

Novenas are a form of prayer that involves reciting either public or private prayers for nine consecutive days. The Pentecost Novena is based on a biblical event. After Jesus ascended into heaven, He instructed His disciples to pray together. So, they gathered in the upper room, also known as the “cenacle,” and prayed constantly for the coming of the Holy Spirit, as Jesus had promised (Acts 1:6-14). In place of the ninth night of the novena, OLPH will celebrate an Extended Vigil Mass at 7 pm (in addition to our 4:30 pm Mass).  Please join us for this special evening where our novena will culminate with our celebration of Pentecost.

Wed., April 24th, at 7 pm

Pentecost’s Impact on the Eucharist

OLPH is excited to welcome back Sr. Mary Michael Fox during our year of Eucharistic Revival. As we journey through the Easter Season, Sister will guide us in exploring the connection between Pentecost and the Eucharist. With three decades of experience as a Dominican Sister of St. Cecilia, Sr. Mary Michael has inspired learners of all ages and holds an MA in theology with a catechetical focus from Franciscan University and a Ph.D. from the Maryvale Institute in Birmingham.

Sat., May 18, 7:00 pm – 10 pm
Pentecost Extended Vigil Mass, Eucharistic Adoration Celebration & Fellowship

Fifty days after Jesus’ resurrection, the Holy Spirit descended on Mary and the Apostles while they were praying and keeping vigil. We would like to invite you to join us at OLPH as we await the Holy Spirit’s descent and celebrate the birth of the Church together. This special Mass will include additional scripture, prayer, and worship. After the Mass, we will continue the evening in the Narthex or outside (in case of good weather), with some special refreshments.
