Deacon Mike Sindall

Pastoral Associate

Deacon Mike is a retired correctional officer for Montgomery County he and his wife Elisa, along with their five children Jacqueline, Michael, Christopher, Kimberly, and Britney reside in Fulton Maryland.

He came to his calling through the familiar and the much-beloved lyrics of the song, delivered by a young Priest’s sermon many years ago. The words, Here I am Lord, Is it I Lord. I will go where you lead me” would echo in Mike’s mind for years after and in May 2019, Mike took the Lord’s invitation and became a deacon.

What do you love about OLPH?
There are many reasons we love Our Lady of perpetual Help. From the moment my wife Elisa and I walked through the front door in June 2019 and were greeted with nothing but warmth and we immediately had a feeling of belonging. I am grateful to have been assigned to serve such a welcoming parish, and by the grace of God, I hope to serve it well.

What is something quirky about you?
One thing I love to do which totally drives my wife and kids nuts is to stop and look at what others have thrown away in the way of furniture and things like that. After all, “One person’s trash is another’s treasure’ — especially when it’s free! I’ve definitely gotten better over the years, simply by driving with my wife and kids and hearing them say, “No, Dad!”, “No Honey!” Thank goodness for yard sales.
