MEN’S MINISTRY

“Be strong and of good courage; be not frightened, neither be dismayed; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go”

~Joshua 1:9

Offerings for Men at OLPH

We are a group of Catholic men dedicated to growing in our faith and supporting one another on our spiritual journeys. We offer a variety of opportunities to come together as Disciples in Mission.   Our activities align with OLPH’s discipleship pathway (Belong, Believe, Become and Beyond), offering fellowship, formation and outreach opportunities to the men of our parish.  Please join our Men’s Ministry group to stay informed.  Here are a few of the highlights…

Knights of Columbus:

Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works.

Mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families.

Our services offered to OLPH include:

  • parish pancake breakfasts,
  • Christmas Creche in the church
  • Thanksgiving dinner deliveries
  • Annual youth sport competitions (soccer shootout and free-throw contest )
  • Keep Christ in Christmas poster contest

and many more…

Cornerstone

For close to twenty years, the men of OLPH have learned from each other and strengthening each other as we journey in faith and in life.

Our retreat-based model has sought to balance formation with growth in our prayer lives and our efforts at evangelization, true to the long-proven Cursillo discipleship model.

All are welcome to join our gatherings early Saturday morning, whether you have attended a Cornerstone retreat or not.

Manly Burger Nights:

$5 burgers with all the sides (including Marty’s famous onions rings and sauce)

Fellowship with 50+ brothers

A brief motivational teaching from a fellow parishioner

Men’s Mini Retreat:

OLPH Men’s Ministry will sponsor a “Lenten Hike at the Shrine of St. Anthony” on Saturday (3/11) 9 AM-1 PM.

Get your weekend started with a Saturday morning hike on the trails of The Shrine in Ellicott City. Coffee will be available at 9 AM, an easy hike for an hour, and some prayer/fellowship before Confessions at 11 AM. We will end with Noon Mass in the Shrine Chapel and (weather permitting) hamburgers/brats on the grill for lunch before we head home.

Outdoor Stations of the Cross:

OLPH Men’s Ministry will sponsor “Outdoor Stations of the Cross and Bonfire in the Parish Backyard” on Wednesday (3/22) at 7 PM.

Join us for this new Lenten tradition as we gather around the Stations (from our original OLPH Church) that surround our bonfire pit in the backyard of the parish office. We will have an opportunity for prayer, fellowship, and a beverage of choice (BYOB) around the fire pit afterward. Don’t forget your camp chair!
