MEN’S MINISTRY

“Be strong and of good courage; be not frightened, neither be dismayed; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go”

~Joshua 1:9

Offerings for Men at OLPH

We are a group of Catholic men dedicated to growing in our faith and supporting one another on our spiritual journeys. We offer a variety of opportunities to come together as Disciples in Mission.   Our activities align with OLPH’s discipleship pathway (Belong, Believe, Become and Beyond), offering fellowship, formation and outreach opportunities to the men of our parish.  Please join our Men’s Ministry group to stay informed.  Here are a few of the highlights…

Knights of Columbus:

Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works.

Mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families.

Our services offered to OLPH include:

  • parish pancake breakfasts,
  • Christmas Creche in the church
  • Thanksgiving dinner deliveries
  • Annual youth sport competitions (soccer shootout and free-throw contest )
  • Keep Christ in Christmas poster contest

and many more…

Cornerstone

For close to twenty years, the men of OLPH have learned from each other and strengthening each other as we journey in faith and in life.

Our retreat-based model has sought to balance formation with growth in our prayer lives and our efforts at evangelization, true to the long-proven Cursillo discipleship model.

All are welcome to join our gatherings early Saturday morning, whether you have attended a Cornerstone retreat or not.

Manly Burger Nights:

Prayer & Praise for All Adult Men

Twice monthly, OLPH Men’s Ministry will host praise and worship in the Eucharistic Adoration Chapel at Our Lady of Perpetual Help—just an uncomplicated night of prayer, soft music by guitar, and our Lord, Jesus Christ. Hearing the sound of men’s voices, all lifted in prayer and song is powerful, and praying together as men are desperately needed in a society that lacks solid Christian men with values who strive to live out the Gospel of Our Blessed Lord. Young Adult Men (ages 18-35) of the parish and friends, please mark your calendar for the first and third Mondays of each month to join us at 8 PM.
Our next gathering will be in the Chapel on Monday, December 18, at 8 PM, and future dates planned for:
January 15, 2024 @ 8 pm
February 5, 2024 @ 8 pm
February 19, 2024 @ 8 pm

The Catechism in a Year

Join us early Saturday mornings in the Good Shepherd room off the narthex. We will review/discuss/share the blessings from Father Mike Schmitz podcast that begins on January 1st.

Stick around afterwards and attend the 8:15 morning Mass

No better way to start your weekend!

Men’s Video Series

Gather monthly to watch/discuss a formation video from speakers like Father Larry Richard, Father Mike Schmitz and others. Food and beverages are served in a potluck style gathering.

Excellent informal fellowship and formation for men of all ages.
