This year, the OLPH Community Outreach Committee supported impactful initiatives with donations totaling $21,000.

In response to the increasing demands on our food pantry, we’ve committed to an additional $125 per month, bringing the total to $ 1,875 per month in the upcoming year, to better meet the growing needs of our community.
We have been able to offer over $10,000 in financial support to parishioners and community members.
Our parish is committed to donating the full amount from the Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal rebate received yearly. In addition to that rebate, the generosity of poor box donations allowed us to gift an additional $5000 each to our sister parishes, St Veronica’s and Our Lady of the Nativity in Haiti.
Throughout the year, our Knights of Columbus, Catholic Daughters, and other organizations have raised money and collected supplies for the Columbia Pregnancy Center’s vital work. This year, we were able to allocate an additional $ 2,000 from our Poor Box donations.
Bridges to Housing Stability is a not-for-profit organization based in Howard County committed to ending homelessness through affordable rentals, move-in assistance, homeless services, and advocacy. OLPH donated $2000 to Bridges to Housing Stability through the generosity of the poor box donations!

The Culture Project is an initiative of young people set out to restore the culture through the experience of virtue. We proclaim the dignity of the human person and the richness of living sexual integrity, inviting our culture to become fully alive. Culture Project missionaries dedicate at least one year to serving in an American diocese, where they speak to middle school, high school, and college students on human dignity, social media, and sexual integrity. This year, we were able to offer a small donation towards one Missionary for the Culture Project.
The Franciscan Center’s mission is to provide emergency assistance and supportive outreach to the economically disadvantaged, helping them realize their self-worth and dignity as people of God. OLPH is proud to continue to support the Franciscan Center’s various services to Baltimore City’s most vulnerable. OLPH donated $2500 this year to the Franciscan Center and their great works to help the most vulnerable of Baltimore City.
Mary’s Home strives to empower expectant mothers and their children in crisis by providing a safe home, supportive community, and holistic accompaniment toward family stability. With a vision to prepare expectant mothers for independent living and a hopeful future, Mary’s House provides housing, mentoring, life skills training, social service connections, and pre- and post-birth support in a community living environment. OLPH is proud to support its operations with a $2500 donation from our Poor Box Funds.
Grass Roots provides free 24-hour crisis intervention, mental health, substance use disorder, housing support, and suicide prevention services. We are proud to be a continued partner with Grassroots and offer $2500 to support their mission.
Little Portion Farm, a ministry of the Franciscan Friars, is dedicated to providing fresh food to those in need while using sustainable farming practices to support the health of the land we steward. Since 2019, the farm has harvested and donated over 100,000 pounds of fresh produce to organizations serving people living with food insecurity. We are blessed to be able to offer a $1500 grant to Little Portions to continue with their mission.
Religious Communities of St Francis of Assisi and Religious Sisters of Mercy, in honor of the great work Sr. Lorraine McGraw has offered to our parish for almost 20 years, and in honor of our own parishioner, Sr Thomas Miriam White, who professed her perpetual vows with the Religious Sisters of Mercy, donations have been offered to both religious communities.
This past winter, Fr. Anthony returned to his home community in Nigeria with $2600 and was able to sponsor 250 Nigerian families with a sizeable quantity of rice. Our brothers and sisters in Christ sent us a report of how the funds were used and a note saying, “Thanks to God for the provision and the gift of a benevolent OLPH community! Two hundred fifty families were fed through the generosity of your parish. Thank you for being a continued partner in our feeding program under the supervision of Fr. Anthony while he was home with us this Christmas season.
Catholic Relief Services—An additional donation was made through Catholic Relief Services to support those affected by the floods in Alleghany County, Maryland, and Kerr County, Texas.
